We are putting on our second movie fest of the year, this time featuring Burton’s B-Movie, there will be a raffle for new gear, including a snowboard and this time admission is free!

In case you’ve been living under a rock or in the library this week, the ropes dropped for the season yesterday at Mt. Baker Ski Area. Based on the lift lines and how quickly everything got tracked-out, everyone and their brothers were there. Even the sun came out for opening day. Here are some pictures in case you missed it or want to relive the good times:

Don’t worry if you couldn’t make it. It’s dumping up there again today and they’re expecting over a foot before sunrise on Saturday. So go get it while the gettin’s good.

In case you didn’t get the memo, the 09-10 snow season has started (well, at least in Colorado). Both Loveland Pass and Arapahoe Basin opened this week, thanks to cold temps and snowguns.

But Colorado is not Seattle, so unless you’re planning an epic road trip, here’s what’s going on in the region this weekend to whet your snow-craving appetite:

And if you’re not 21 yet, don’t worry, I’m sure the U-District will be hopping after the Huskies embarrass Arizona in the great American sport of football.
