About

Our Purpose:
To create a thriving community of people who love to snowboard.

What makes our community special?
Sure, you could get a group of friends together in your dorm or fraternity and go snowboarding all the time without ever joining the Husky Snowboard Team (HST), but the great thing about HST is that we are an official Resgistered Student Organization at the University of Washington. Not only that, we have been around since the early ’90s, and with all of our years of exeperience and street cred, we have accees special benefits and deals you can’t get on your own! Check out the list below for a small taste.

Benefits for Members:
* gas money for trips to the mountain–save your receipts!
* discounts at local shops (up to 20% off!)
* pro-forms from top name companies
* free 11/12 shirt personally designed for the team
* team BBQs and parties
* organized trips for whistler college weekend, baker banked slalom, and spring break (Whister, Hood, Baker, Schweitzer, or where ever else you want to go!)
* membership to the exclusive HST facebook group to help you buy and sell gear, meet people, and organize trips
* use of the team snowskate!
* giveaways and contests for freebies
* anything else we/you dream up–we need your input!

HST isn’t just for experts
A good portion of the members are very good riders, but don’t let the discourage you if you’re a newbie. All ability levels of snowboarders are welcome. We have riders who regularly compete in local comps, and people who have never touched a snowboard in their life, but want to learn how. HST is not about creating an elite and exclusive group, we are about creating a community of people who love to snowboard, regardless of your skill level!

The Bottom Line:
HST is designed to help you form connections with other people around campus who ride, and get some great benefits in the process. It’s only $25 to join for the year, which is less then price of a lift ticket. There is no catch, the money pays for your t-shirt, gas money, competition fees, and allows us to book hotel rooms for trips.

What to do next:
If you’re interested in joining, don’t hesitate to check out our how to join page. If you want to read about some of the details, check out the frequently asked questions. Finally, if you have any more questions feel free to shoot us an email.
