Shahryar K. Ahmad

I am a doctoral candidate working in SASWE Research Group at University of Washington, Seattle. My research revolves around novel intersection of water and energy nexus, where opportunities to generate energy from water with maximal benefits to poeple and ecology form an integral part.

Interests include land surface modeling, machine learning, numerical weather prediction modeling, optimization, and geospatial data processing. Developing web and desktop-based GIS apps fascinate me a lot.
I was a student intern at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD in Summer'17, where I worked on the Land Information System (LIS) software framework.
I did my undergraduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India.
