I have a total amount of:

$1285
out of  $3000
required. Please read letter below for more information.

Hello everyone,

My name is Jehad Affoneh; I’m an officer with Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Washington (SJP-UW). I have been accepted to participate in The Students Boycott Apartheid Delegation which will be held in Palestine from June 23rd – July 5th. I will be part of a group that consists of 10-15 participants representing 8-12 colleges and universities throughout North America. The delegation aims to bring students in North America and Palestine together in order to present students’ perspective on the divestment movement. The delegation also aims to help students from both societies to share experiences to continue the work on students’ movement to end the occupation in Palestine.

This is exciting for me. I have been an officer with SJP-UW for two years now and it has been an amazing journey. We have helped students on campus to understand more about the issue. It is fascinating to connect with hundreds of students throughout campus who knew nothing about the Palestinian issue and they are now members of SJP-UW trying to help us in asking for justice for Palestinians. It has been a long journey and I believe that it is just the start. We have a lot of work to do and we are excited to do it. I was and I’m still proud to be part of this. It is exciting because I know I am part of the same type of movement that helped ending the apartheid regime in South Africa and which will help end the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Funding for this project is aimed to be provided through the participant’s community. The amount of funding required in order for me to participate is $1200 in addition to my plane ticket which will be around $1800 bringing the total amount required to $3000.
I need my community’s help in order to reach the amount in the next couple of weeks. If the amount reaches more than $3000 the rest will go towards the accommodations of the delegation.

I will also be publishing any amount of money I get on this page in order to keep track of donations:

Also, I will be blogging from Palestine when possible in order to provide daily briefs of the experience. I will be sharing videos, pictures, and my feelings. Also, I will be willing to write reportsback when I come back from Palestine.

This trip is an opportunity that will help me, SJP-UW, and the BDS movement. I hope that you will be able to help me reach the amount required.

Please make checks out to "Hannah Mermelstein" and write "student delegation" in the memo line.

If you need the donation to be tax-deductible, you can make the check out to "BCOME" (Boston Committee on the Middle East) and write "student delegation" in the memo line.

Please include a note in the envelope that says that it is to support Jehad's participation and send me an email (my email address is below) with the amount donated.  Send all checks before May 31 to:
