Here at the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers - UW Chapter, our goal is simple: facilitate the path to a science or engineering career for Hispanic and other underrepresented students through a network of support, encouragement, and development.
UW SHPE is holding a donation drive until Thursday, December 17 to collect socks (or money to buy socks) for homeless youth this winter. The donations will be delivered to YouthCare. Specifically, we're looking for new packs of athletic or tube socks, with a goal of 100 pairs.
If you'd like to donate or contribute, please do so through any one of our officers, at our weekly meetings, or through a collection bin in Loew 207/213.
We invite you to join us for SHPE's very own 5k! The run is being held to raise funds for scholarships granted to underrepresented students. Specifically, these scholarships will allow them to participate in professional events aimed at nurturing their career development and expanding their network, like the National SHPE Conference held in Maryland this November.
Snacks and water will be provided. Facebook event page.
