5th Annual

Purple Heart Dash

Hosted by

The University of Washington Semper Fidelis Society

What is it?

The Purple Heart Dash is a 5k charity race held to benefit wounded veterans, through both the Wounded Warrior Project and the Semper Fi Fund.  Like other 5ks, you can run as an individual, but unlike other 5ks, you have the option of competing as a team – a 4 person “fire team,” that runs the 5k together.  As a team, one of you is “wounded” and must be carried the entire time, but don’t worry; it doesn’t have to be the same person the whole time. We recommend only the strong, brave, or crazy take on this challenge!

Who can run?

Everyone!  You, your friends, anyone that wants to support our veterans!  Join us in promoting a great cause, tell your friends, and join our Facebook event for updates.

Where is it?

You won't need an hour, but we recommend arriving about 30 minutes early to check-in, get your race number, T-shirt, etc.

Why should I get involved?

This event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and Semper Fi Fund. Both are non-profit organizations established to provide financial relief servicemembers injured in support of operations around the globe. Both organizations provide relief for financial needs that arise during hospitalization and recovery as well as assistance for those with perpetuating needs. Their programs provide support in a variety of ways including: Service Member and Family Support, Specialized & Adaptive Equipment, Adaptive Housing, Adaptive Transportation, Education and Career Transition Assistance, Therapeutic Arts and Team Semper Fi. For more information or to donate directly, please visit the Semper Fi Fund Website and the Wounded Warrior Project Website.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the UW Semper Fidelis Society for future chapter activities and events, such as this Purple Heart Dash.
