This series of images shows the four mains stages of Rayleigh-Taylor Flow

The first stage starts with the fluids not mixed, second bumps form in a sinusoidal fashion.

Third they start to blend further as the bumps extend. Lastly the fourth stage shows the further breaking apart of the fluids.
