When: Friday, 15 February 2002, from 6:00pm-11:00pm. For those who wish to help with set-up, it will begin around 5:00pm; we plan to have everything taken down by midnight.
Location: HUB West Ballroom, on the University of Washington, Seattle campus.
From I-5: Take the NE 45th Street exit (#169). Turn left onto NE 45th Street. Continue east about one quarter mile to 15th Avenue NE and turn right. Head south on 15th Avenue three blocks to NE 41st Street. Turn left at Gate #1 into the Central Plaza Garage. Stop at the gatehouse inside the garage for directions and a parking permit.
From the east: Coming from the east use State Route 520. Take the Montlake Boulevard exit. Continue north on Montlake Blvd. and cross the drawbridge. At the first traffic light after the bridge, turn left onto NE Pacific Street. Proceed west on NE Pacific to 15th Avenue NE. Turn right and head north on 15th Avenue to NE 41st Street where Gate #1 is located. Turn right into the Central Plaza Garage. Stop at the gatehouse inside the garage for directions and a parking permit.
By bus: Metro home page should be helpful. You'll want to get off at either NE 41st St and University Way NE or 15th Ave NE and NE 41st St, depending on the route.
Cost: $5 for UW students (with valid Husky Card), $10 for non-UW students. Tickets are available in advance at the HUB Ticket Office, or at the door. However, whether or not you are planning to purchase tickets at the door, please click the Contact link to make reservations so we can estimate food, etc.
Time Period: Western Europe, 600-1600. Please wear a costume appropriate to the time period; while this need not be a museum piece, we ask that you at least make an attempt. Also, for the masquerade, please bring a mask -- as simple or as complex as you like.
We are currently trying to arrange dance classes prior to the Masquerade. As we will be doing period dances, you may find these helpful. Attendance, while certainly not required, is therefore highly recommended.
