The College of Saint Bunstable is the name of the
Society for Creative Anachronism branch at
the
University of Washington. We are a
Registered Student Organization with the
Student Activities Office, and here is our club constitution.
Unfortuantely we don't have an club office in the HUB building but we do have a club mail box.
Meetings, Project Nights, and Events are usually kept close to the University for convenience to the student body.
In the SCA, we are physically located within the Barony of Madrone (Seattle and King County, WA); we are, however, an independent group, even though many of our activities and such are coordinated with them. We are also a part of the Kingdom of An Tir. We at the College, like others in the SCA, enjoy learning about the Middle Ages (approx. 600-1650 CE) by doing the things that were done back then (aside from dying of the Plague, of course). To learn about period clothing, we make garb for our personas. To learn about cooking methods, we have feasts, and so on. "Living History" is a fun way to learn the hows and whys of what was done in the past. Within the context of living history, there are endless choices of what one can do, based on personal preferences. For more information on the SCA and living history, see the links section at the left of the page, or visit the links below. In addition to the SCA events, St. Bunstable's also has regular "college" events, like monthly project nights and end of the quarter potlucks. If you'd like to join us for any of these things (or local SCA events), please see the Calendar of Events. It should be updated monthly or so, time permitting. Welcome to the Current Middle Ages!
