You
will need to modify this schedule to fit your life/school/work.
Make changes to it and then print it (gotta work on
the margins, it cuts off Saturday’s for me,
but I bet you can figure it out)
Ride
with your fellow teammates as often as possible to
get used to being in close quarters. Practice drafting.
Ask the experienced riders questions. If they have
raced, they are experienced.
You
will need to adjust the mileage and intensity to give
yourself a good workout, but not kill yourself. A
slow and steady progression is better than cramming
too much training all at once.
The
season is short! 5 weekends of racing and it is over,
so be mentally and physically prepared to travel and
have fun once the racing starts. If you do the riding
the next few months, the racing is your reward.
Note:
Training camp at Velodrome February 15th (tentative,
need to clear it with Park, MVA first). This will
be a time to play with pacelines, skills, tumbling,
trivia and more…
Grab
your friends and get them on their bikes and ask them
to join us. The more the merrier. This is about fun
first, finishing races 2nd, going fast 3rd. I look
forward to riding with you.
