Volunteer Opportunities

Throughout the quarter, we will plan for volunteer events for our club as a whole. It is a chance to get to know your peers and fellow club members. Building a network is important for our future careers and getting to know future pharmacy students will expand your supporting network. Come join us for the upcoming and exciting volunteer events. If you have any questions or concerns about the location and given time or date changes, feel free to email any of the officers.

CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS:

We did sign-ups for the above volunteering opportunities at our second meeting on October 21st. The slots filled up very quickly and there are now no more available positions. We will have more opportunities for both the food bank and shadowing as well as other events in the future. Please try to attend meetings if you would like to participate in either of these or other future opportunities because the available volunteer positions are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers who have already signed up will meet together before the event and should expect an email with further details soon.

So as you all know, the club is doing a toy drive for Children's Hospital and the Bellingham Women's Shelter. Earlier in the quarter we made boxes to be used in collecting toys, books, etc. Boxes will be/have been placed at the locations listed above and this event will continue until November 30th. We are looking for members to take charge and participate in a leadership role in monitoring the boxes. Last Wednesday we passed out a sign up sheet so that members could sign up, but we are still looking for people to sign up. If you are interested in having a leadership role in the club, this would be a great opportunity to take advantage of. You would check up on the boxes twice a week and report to a club officer. If this is something you would like do, please email us asap and let us know which location you would like to be in charge of.
This tabling event has 2 main purposes:
1. To spread the word about our toy drive
2. To raise funds for our party
We are basically trying to plant two trees with one seed. The plan is to let the public know about our toy drive while raising money for our club. To raise money we're thinking of selling eggnog (also possibly cider) and cookies on those two days.. We will figure out prices and such later, but if you have any suggestions for our fundraiser please let us know! We need a ton of help from our members in order to do this so if you are available from any time on Monday 11/23 from 12:30-3:30, and/or Tuesday 11/24 from 8:30-3:30 to table, email us the specific time that you are available so that we can place you on our sign-up sheet. This is another chance to volunteer for the club, so if you have the time come through and help us out! :-)

Please also note that only paid members are allowed to participate in our volunteer activities! If you are not a paid member by the time the event that you signed up for occurs, then unfortunately you will not be able to participate in that event.
