About...This is the personal website of me, Patrick J Shamberger. I intend this site to be a little bit of all things; partly informative, partly topical, and partly entertaining, all at once. This site first originated in 2003 and was most recently edited and reorganized in the summer of 2009. About myself... I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Washington with professor Fumio Ohuchi as a research advisor. I am studying magnetocaloric effect materials for magnetic refrigeration. More broadly, I am interested in energy efficient technologies and processes. I recieved an M.S. in Geology & Geophysics from the University of Hawaii-Manoa in 2004, under the guidance of Professor Julia E Hammer. My studies at UH centered around the magmatic evolution of Hualalai Volcano, Hawaii. See my research page for further information. I graduated in 2002 from Princeton University with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a certificate in Geological Engineering. |
