Our Annual Auction

PILA funds the largest portion of its public interest work through a benefit auction. Besides being enormously fun, the auction is a rare opportunity for students, faculty, and practitioners to work together for a common purpose: to improve access to legal services in our community and around the world.

$68,500 raised at Auction - total for the year is $95,000!

PILA's 2008 Auction was held on February 22 at the W Hotel in downtown Seattle. Once again, the night was a huge success! In just the Fund-an-LRAP frenzy, PILA raised $26,000 for the Loan Repayment Assistance Program. This amount will be matched by the state legislature as part of this year's once in a lifetime opportunity to raise up $250,000 in matching funds for the LRAP endowment.

Thanks are especially owed to our terrific MC, Professor Sam Donaldson. His wit and enthusiasm kept the energy level high throughout the night.

Jack Storms, our photographer, deserves a special thanks as well. His photos are amazing and truly capture the excitement of the night.

We'd also like to thank some special guests for helping to make the night such a success: Peter Buck, WA Supreme Court Justice Bobbe Bridge; Williams Gates, Sr; State Senator Ken Jacobson; Law School Interim Dean Gregory Hicks; and the numerous Law School faculty and staff in attendance.

Congratulations are also in order for Group 2, which was the winner of the PILA Auction Challenge!
