"Electrifying Discussions! The
Benefits and Limits of Teaching with Discussion Boards"

In this roundtable, Riki Thompson (graduate student, English) and Stacy
Grooters (Doctoral Candidate, English) will discuss techniques for using
different kinds of online discussion forums (such as email journals,
listservs, and EPost discussion boards) to promote better in-class participation
and a focus on writing as critical exploration. They are interested
in exploring whether all classes can benefit from such forums or if
there are limits to their usefulness.
