Course Reflections
Through the review of BHI literature and in-class discussion, I gained a better understanding of evaluation, qualitative and quantitative methods used in the field. I found the most valuable aspect of the course to be our final project. For this project, I determined a research question and designed a research plan (including a projected timeline) for answering this question. Additionally, I found it useful to review peer research plans and create hypothetical results. Through this process, it became evident that much time and effort must go into the planning phase of research, in addition to carrying out the defined steps and analysing the results. The ability to write well and to produce a well-designed plan are critical skills for being successful in any career that involves research. I believe this course has allowed me to improve upon my ability to do both within the context of BHI.
