Project 1

TASK 8: Reconvene your design team from last week’s lab.  Also, please shuffle the specific roles within your team.

TASK 9: Plan and schedule the tasks for this week's lab by adding them to your plan and schedule from last week’s lab. Add to your list of tasks and CPM network; recalculate the project duration, the total float on all tasks, and the critical path.  (Cooper, 2004, para. 3-4)

Re-Group and Revise the Project Schedule

As with the first part of the project, our group decided that it would be best if every member contributed equally to each phase of the design process.  As a result, there were no specific design positions given to group members.  The leadership and recorder positions were changed for the second part of the lab: Ryan was the team leader and Nick was the recorder.

Revising the Project Schedule

Our team felt that the linear schedule that was developed in the first part of the lab kept the group going in the right direction and we always had enough people working on each task to accomplish it as efficiently as possible.  So, we kept our first run of the final design process as linear as possible.  In order to accommodate some iteration to our design, a specific task called "design revisions" was added to our schedule.  We were also to create a timeline that more accurately reflected the amount of time needed to complete each task on schedule.  This is probably a direct result of how much we underestimated the time that would be needed to complete the first part of the design process.  A CPM chart that includes both Part A and B of this project can be found below.
