Project 1 A

TASK 6: Identify and analyze competing designs. Consider alternatives at both the product and subfunction/ subsystem level.  Include the engineering characteristics you identified during the QFD and provide marginal and ideal values for quantitative metrics and an assessment of qualitative metrics for each competing solution.  Again a template for this task is attached and available in the “projects” pages of the course website.  Feel free to alter the template to meet your needs.  For information on analyzing competing solutions, see sections 2.4 and 2.6 and chapter 3 of the text.  (Cooper, 2004, para. 10)

Competition Benchmarking

Our prduct would replace the stock battery pack for a Ford Ranger EV1.  Currently there are no aftermarket battery cases available for this vehicle.  Due to this fact, there is no real competator to benchmark.
