Nimah Mazaheri

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of
Political Science at the University of Washington.
My main fields are comparative politics,
political economy, and methodology.

My current research focuses on the political
economy of oil and mineral wealth.

I am particularly interested in how oil and mineral
wealth affects government-business relations,
regulatory policymaking, entrepreneurship, and
the growth of competitive markets.

My regional area of interest is the Middle East,
particularly Iran and the Gulf region.

Recently, I have also been studying the
federal states in India's "coal and steel belt."

I employ quantitative methods, formal models,
and case studies in my research.
