Kris Hohag

Manahu,

My name is Kristopher Kwati-tatsinoba Hohag. I was born in coastal Northern California then raised among my relatives on the Bishop Paiute Shoshone Reservation in Eastern California.  Presently, I am a Masters student in the department of Curriculum and Instruction within the College of Education at UW.  At this time my attention is focused on the issue of Indigenous Language and Culture Revitalization.  I am committed to the self-sufficiency of indigenous peoples; the very foundation of which, I believe, is education.  A number of the other topics I am continually drawn to are identity development, cultural competency, and youth empowerment through creative expression and media literacy.  I am blessed to be where I am and grateful for the stream of amazing people I continue to encounter through this educational journey.  My intention is to assist as many others as possible to follow their own personal dreams.
