About Me
My name is Michael Jongseon Lee and I am a PhD candidate in the Information School
at the University of Washington
. I am being advised by Andrew J. Ko
and a member of both the DUB Group
and USE Group
.
I received a Masters of Science in Information Science (MSIS) from the University of Washington
and a Masters of Information Management and Systems (MIMS) from UC Berkeley
. Prior to that, I worked as a software developer for the San Diego Supercomputer Center
and received my B.S. in Cognitive Science and Human-Computer Interaction from UC San Diego
.
My major area of focus is in human-computer interaction (HCI). Within that field, I am interested in computational thinking and end-user programming. More specifically, I am interested in exploring factors that engage beginners to learn programming and dispel any negative preconceptions they may have about the skills being too difficult to obtain.
