What is the Microphiles Club?
The Microphiles Club is a student run club
that is open to all UW students, faculty and staff who are interested
in microbiology. We are a group dedicated to improving the understanding
and appreciation of all things microbiology. There is no fee, GPA
requirement, or need to have taken a microbiology course. However,
when space is limited at one of our events, Microphiles members
will be given preference.
As an officially registered student organization (RSO), our club
events typically include guest speakers, reports of research by
members and department faculty, field trips, community service,
and social gatherings.
This club is also about students who are interested in meeting with
other students of similar interests. Many of our members are pursuig
professional schools (medical, dental, nursing, and pharmacy), as
well careers in biology, genetics, bioengineering, microbiology,
biochemistry, and many others.
