Getting Involved
We're glad you're interested in the math club. Below you will find more information on opportunities to join us.
Mailing List
By signing up for our mailing list, you will become a "member" of our club and stay up-to-date on our events and club updates.
You may subscribe, unsubscribe or mange your subscription by visiting the official UW Math Club mailing list page.
(As of Autumn 2010, we have switched to the UW mailman system for the math club mailing list. The primary benefit is immediate subscription and unsubscription at any time.)
Alternatively, you sign up by e-mailing us directly at uwmathclub at gmail or talk to an officer during one of our events.
Pizza/Lectures
The math club hosts several pizza/lecture events every quarter. A professor usually gives a talk on a particular fascinating subject area in math or presents his/her research in math. Each talk is accompanied by lots of pizza, snacks and beverages as well as students.
These talks are usually geared toward undergraduate students; check the pizza/lecture page for abstracts of upcoming talks.
We encourage you to drop by at a pizza/lecture to learn more about math and network with math students/professors. Not to mention free food, right?
Other Events
While the math club does not meet weekly with members, we generally host large events during each quarter. Come join us for math movie nights, riddle/puzzle nights and many more! Check our upcoming events.
Becoming an Officer
If you would like to make our club even better next year, consider becoming an officer. Elections for the 2011-2012 academic year will be held during spring quarter. The exact date and time is TBD, but we will announce it on the website and through the mailing list.
