About Us
The Math Club at the University of Washington is a registered student organization (RSO) aimed at promoting mathematics through educational and social events. In other words, we want you to come to our events and talk about math! Learn about the various ways to get involved with our club.
The following is an exerpt from our club constitution, stating our mission. The Math Club at the University of Washington seeks to:
- Develop a community in which mathematics may be practiced, discussed, and taught in such a fashion that is accessible to all levels of preparation,
- Express the appeal of mathematics to all minds and their respective academic disciplines, and
- Enjoy math for its beauty as well as its application.
"The Math Club strives to both promote and explicate the wonders of Mathematics. The Math Club also wishes to engage in activities designed to promote the mathematical and scholarly development of its Members."
Getting Involved
The best way you can get involved is to attend an event. Unlike some clubs, math club does not meet weekly; attending events is the way to go. Every quarter we host educational events and social events, including pizza/lectures, movie nights, puzzle nights and a quarterly departmental dinner.
If you would like to make our club even better next year, consider becoming an officer. Elections for the 2012-2013 academic year will be held during spring quarter.

Math club officers are elected by popular vote. Elections for the 2012-2013 academic year will be held during spring quarter. More information on each officer can be found on the officers page.
