The math club is hosting a puzzle night this Friday. Stop by for a friendly (and non-serious) competition, solving puzzles that range from your standard riddles to Sudoku. The math club will be providing cake and beverages, all you need to do is drop by and supply answers.

Thomson 334Also, we will be having our first pizza lecture on November 18th. Doug Sherbon, a math undergraduate, will be explaining the open problem P versus NP. This is a very important problem, evidence for this being that it was chosen as one of the Millennium Prize Problems. It should be an interesting lecture. And of course free pizza will be offered.

"Interested in math? Want to get in touch with other undergraduates in the math department? Then you might want to check out the UW Math Club. The UW Math Club is an RSO that organizes math related events on campus. These events range from social gatherings, to lectures by undergraduates about there research in math, to a quarterly departmental dinner. Coming to a math event is a great way to make connections within the department, and learn about various opportunities open to those who study math.
Our first event is planned for this coming Friday, the 16th of October. Come join us for FREE PIZZA, a chance to meet this year's officers, and later a math related movie. Details below.
