2008 Conference

This year's conference will be held on January 12th, from 9am-5pm. The theme for this year's conference will be Healthcare on the MAPS: Navigating Your Future. Our day-long event will allow students the opportunity to learn more about the health-related departments at UW as well as other medical schools and programs. From workshops on different fields of study (Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy) to hands-on activities such as suturing, our conference seeks to give students a better idea of what the real healthcare field is like as well as to show students a viable path towards achieving their career goals.

About

Every year, MAPS has its annual pre-health conference. Last year, we held the event at the South Campus Center. The event was a success in helping expand student knowledge in the different health professions. Students were given the opportunity to attend workshops on pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, and nursing. We hope that these conferences will help to bring underrepresented individuals closer to their aspirations and give them a taste of what these professions have in store.
