My objective as a teacher is for students to understand how the information learned in the classroom relates to the world outside the classroom.  Fortunately, economics is a subject that affects our daily lives, and I integrate classroom simulations and current events into traditional lecture in order to help students find those connections.

Once they gain some understanding of the economic way of thinking, students are more willing to share their insights and often bring up new and interesting topics for conversation.  These discussions are what make teaching rewarding.
