I am in my third year of pursuing a PhD in biostatistics. My statistical interests include decision theory, epidemiologic study and clinical trial design, methods to account for missing data, quantitative communication, and joint modeling. I am currently working with Kenneth Rice, PhD (Department of Biostatistics, UW) on assignment of loss functions yielding tests minimizing Bayes loss identical to commonly-used statistical tests to better summarize evidence of a test result from a single experiment. I am also writing a review of methods to optimally design studies to estimate parameters in systems of ordinary differential equations efficiently with Sarah Holte, PhD (Fred Hutch) and Ali Shojaie, PhD (Department of Biostatistics, UW). My current RA is with Kaiser Permanente under the supervision of Jennifer Nelson, PhD and Melissa Anderson, M.S., where I assist with grant preparation, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation for a variety of epidemiologic studies and clinical trials. My current foci include modeling efficacy of different meningitis vaccination strategies and exploratory analyses using data from a clinical trial assessing the impact of education programs in addition to practice facilitation to improve cardiovascular health outcomes in small clinics.
