If you’ve ever wanted to play side-by-side with college musicians, now’s your chance! We’ll rehearse in a reading band together, where we sight read several pieces of music and rehearse for a short period of time. Then you’ll get to perform what you’ve just rehearsed for your parents. We’ll record the performance and burn a CD you get to take home with you. For your reference, this is last year’s recording.
While your kids are rehearsing with us, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a parent workshop. The first part will focus on giving you the tools to help your kids continue with music, whether that be in school, in the community, or just with their friends. The second part of the workshop is a question and answer session with college students where we’re happy to talk about anything music-related. Whether you’re a seasoned parent of many musicians or are unsure how to support your son or daughter, you’re bound to learn something new.

This event will be hosted in Meany Hall, Room 268 in the University of Washington. Follow I5 until you get to the University of Washington exit, on NE 45th St., after around half a mile you will be on the edge of the University of Washington campus. Since this was moved to Meany Hall, we recommend parking in the Central Campus Parking Garage, beneath Red Square on the Campus Map.
