I am a first year PhD student in the Biostatistics department. My research interests are broad and include Statsistical Genetics and Statistical Phylogenetics. In the past year, I have studied methods of population genetics with Sharon Browning, PhD. Additionally, I have studied how statistical inference can be used to answer questions about phylogenetic trees with Amy Willis, PhD. In 2016 I graduated from the University of Texas, where I studied math. As an undergrad I also took education courses and student taught in order to receive a teaching certificate. During my free time I enjoy running, playing guitar, and exploring Seattle.
