I am an Argentinian student in the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences (SAFS), UW. I have interests and expertise in marine ecology and fisheries. My ecological research has focused on ecology and life history strategies of shellfish and finfish species. In fisheries, I has worked as onboard fishery observer and investigator in quantitative assessments of shellfish and finfish fisheries. I got my MSc in the SAFS in 2002 working on population dynamics of the Patagonian scallop (Zygochlamys patagonica).
My PhD research is on spatial dynamics, recruitment trends and sustainability of the Geoduck clam (Panopea abrupta) from a metapopulation perspective. This project integrates directed sampling and experiments with software development for metapopulation modeling of benthic / sedentary species under exploitation.
Special Interests: Metapopulations and Spatial Explicit Modeling - Population Dynamics - Spatially Structured Populations - Quantitative Stock Assessment - Software Development
