Tools and Setup
To begin stringing the ATW pattern, you prepare your racquet as you normally would. The only difference is that you will need a "Starting Clamp" to complete this pattern. This picture shows all the tools you will need. The normal needle nose pliers and diagonal cutters. The Starting clamp is a specially designed tool with two to three springs holding the jaw shut. The jaw is typically "diamond dusted," meaning it has a slight texture to it's jaws.

Measuring String
Begin the string pattern as you normally would. If you have a full set of string feel free to be generous on the mains. 10 feet for the short side is plenty. If you are using a reel, or are following a stringing pattern, keep the string usage the same as you normally would.

Preparing to String the Mains
Begin stringing the mains as normal.
Note: I use the starting clamp as an anchor for the first pull. This is not necessary, of course, but I use it as an added security blanket.
