Officers for 2007-2008

President Yegor Malinovskiy

Yegor is a first year Masters Student and a Research Assistant for STARLab. His current research topics involve pedestrian detection and surveillance camera vehicle tracking. Tracking methods/attempts involve background subtraction, filtering and feature detection techniques.

Vice President Yao-Jan Wu

Yao-Jan Wu is a Ph.D. Student and also a Research Assistant for the STARLab. Yao-Jan is working on his Google-Map-Based Arterial Traffic Information (GATI) System which presents real-time information for the urban streets of the City of Bellevue.

Treasurer Kelly Pitera

Kelly is a Ph.D. student. Kelly has been integrally involved with UW ITE having served as chapter president in the 2006-2007 school year. Her research includes work for Anne Goodchild on freight systems resiliency. Kelly hopes to pursue a career as a professor in Civil Engineering.

Secretary Evan Siroky

Evan is a first year Masters Student. He currently is working on a research project funding by Washington State Ferries to determine the disparity of eastbound versus westbound trips on certain ferry crossings. Evan also has a special interest in public transportation, bicycling, and computer programming. He has made computer programs that provide enhanced access to public transit schedule information which are available for download from his website at www.evansiroky.com

Faculty Advisor Yinhai Wang

Yinhai Wang is currently an Associate Professor in the College of Engineering at the University of Washington. He has been working at the University of Washington since 1998. Yinhai Wang is the Director of the Smart Transportation Applications and Research Laboratory (STAR Lab) and also Coordinator of the TransNow ITS Group. His research is focused on numerous ITS applications which he lists on his faculty website

ITE Mentor Scott Lee

Scott graduated with a Masters in Civil Engineering from Montana State University and has been working at Transpo Group for 3 years. He currently is a student committee co-chair for the Washington Section of ITE and the Student Newsletter Editor for District 6.

ITE Mentor Meagan Powers

Meagan graduated with a Masters in Civil Engineering from Montana State University and has been working for DKS Associates for the last four years. She is currently the student committee co-chair for the Washington Section of ITE.
