As the technology officer, one of the primary responsibilities is to administer the various network resources utilized by AIMS. One of the main resources is the mailing lists used by the organization.
aims-officers@u.washington.edu
This is a Mailman list set up via the UW for officer business. It can be managed via its [[https://mailman2.u.washington.edu/mailman/admindb/aims-officers | Mailman administration page (NetID authentication required). Mostly, all that will need to be done is list moderation to ensure that messages relevant to the organization get through. Note that, since AIMS is a registered student organization, some list traffic comes in from the Student Activities Office (SAO) or via rsolist@u.
The list archives for aims-officers are freely available to promote governmental transparency.
Daily/Weekly Tasks:
- Monitor the moderation queue and approve/reject messages as needed.
Yearly Tasks:
- Add new officers to the aims-officers list via the Mailman interface and add a comment as to what role they have ("Treasurer 09-10", for instance).
- At the end of the academic year, remove the outgoing officers (they should be clearly marked with their academic year).
There are other e-mail addresses that may be useful, but are not strictly AIMS-related:
- iSociety, a group of MSIM alumni/ae that meet once a month: isociety-discuss@googlegroups.com
