An MSIM alum shares networking advice

Some of our program alums blog in other spaces. In this case, I’ve decided to share a post by a 2010 MSIM graduate about networking.

Networking: it’s like flossing your teeth. You know you’re supposed to do it, you’re reasonably sure how, it seems like a drag until you make it part of your routine, and you need it most when you really wish you’d been doing it all along. This post is intended to give you tips on what you need (like a portfolio) and using some tools you may already have (like social media).

If you’re seeking a job or an internship, best of luck!

(Disclosure: I am also a contributor to the Infoscussion blog. We also have alumni covering Info Assurance & Security topics, and observations from a Business Analyst in the field.)

Thanks much. Very well explained the importance of Networking indeed in a practical way. I am a prospective applicant of MSIM program 2011. Hope to seek some piece of advice on selection process if possible.
