Advising pods: a very good thing

A new development at the iSchool for the 2010-11 school year, Advising Pods, is something I’d encourage the first years to explore.

Back in the olden days, before microwaves and iPods and credit cards – just kidding, this was last year – the 2010 MSIM cohort had to cobble together a number of resources to explore all of the opportunities open to iSchool graduates. But for this academic year, Kathy Wong (MSIM Academic Advisor) has established targeted information sessions to meet the range of MSIMmers’ interests.

Sessions will include panels with alumni & professionals, as well as informative talks led by faculty working in areas of interest.  The first couple of sessions focus on UX and HCI, respectively, and will be held on Monday, Oct 18 and Tuesday Oct 19. Please see the AIMS calendar for details!

The specialized information you’ll get at these advising pods is a good thing. We hope everyone interested in a particular field, or who needs more information on planning coursework, will attend!
