It's Spring Quarter at the UW. You know what that means! ROBOT PIRATE NINJA BATTLE! Our three teams go head to head to head in an epic battle that is completely improvised. During a random passing period, unsuspecting bystanders shall witness the chaos that ensues. But please. Let's not forget the primary purpose of this great event. RPN is actually a historic reenactment of a tragic day. A moment of silence please for our fallen comrades.

The Collective went to California! 7 of our members visited LA for a weekend long improv festival, FRACAS. We performed an Armando as well as took some workshops from professional comedians and improvisors from such shows as The Office, Reno! 911, and The Daily Show. Over 23 improv troupes were gathered to share their creative talent and engage in discussion panels. We had a great time and are eager to implement some of our new found skills.

The Collective recently performed for the Writer's Block Literary Festival. Originally scheduled to be in Savery Hall, we moved our troupe to the great outdoors. We played some short-form games to warm up our audience before transitioning into Fairy Tale improv. We delved into a distorted alternate version of Rapunzel. (The witch was an accountant, the tower was the Space Needle, and Rapunzel was spontaneously complimentary.)

With the success of this show, we are now inspired to do more Quad Shows. So keep a weathered eye out! The Collective will be coming to a Quad near you.

Whether you were naughty or nice this year you may have been one of the lucky few who saw the Collective out in force this last Thursday. Did you get the chance to pick a present from either Santa (and her elves) or Death (and his elves)? Keep an eye out for the Collective out and about on campus winter quarter!
