light

These pieces are explorations of light as an element in a picture. Although this project did not require any drawing with Illustrator or Photoshop, it required the most use of the camera and effects features of Photoshop.

I took this picture during a midnight walk when I was going home from school. The picture was taken across a fenced construction area. The only light was a lamp post behind me so I had to bump up the light.

This piece is also interesting in that perspective is achieved by layering of fence over the shadow on the wall. Compare this to how perspective is achieved in the leftmost picture below.

With the leftmost picture, I wanted to portray the feeling of great depth on the stairs. I pinched the image where the stairs disappear to make it seem that you are being sucked in.

What I wanted to do with the rightmost picture, I am not entirely sure. I think I just wanted to highlight the specialness of seeing 12:34 in a digital clock.
