erasure

The focus of this project is sequence. In these digital drawings, I used erasure to create the marks that would create the form.

This piece contains some pictures of me when I was little dressed up as Batman, a girl, and Spider-Man, respectively. I was commenting on how when kids dress up they are trying to grab the essence of what they are pretending to be. Of course, their attempt barely comes close to the goal making it funny or "cute" because of their futility. Nonetheless, there is a seriousness to these make-believe games.

When I started this I thought I was going to show a baseball player swinging a bat. But then, I came across my pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge when I was stayed in San Francisco this summer. I thought the the line work from the bridge would make for an interesting image.

I got the backgrounds from a picture I took of my computer monitor.
