The Hispanic Scholarship Fund received a grant from the Goldman Sachs Foundation to launch its Scholars Chapters at selected college campuses across the United States. HSF helps to strengthen the pipeline of Latino students into higher education by connecting former scholars with current and future scholars. In 2001, HSF piloted scholar chapters at five universities: Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, University of California-Berkeley, and the University of Texas at Austin. Given the success of the inaugural chapters in promoting principles and practices of high academic achievement, HSF launched 10 additional chapters in 2002, including ours.
