Matt Horning's Personal Website

Welcome! This is my personal website, which I am putting up mainly to share pictures with friends and family. For now, it is just a simple website, but it links to some other things I'm working on that, while still amateur, are much nicer.

My World Map This is a site I've been creating on and off for several months. I am finally posting it, but it is a work in progress and there will be some links that lead to nowhere. It is meant to document all of the trips I've made, both in the US as well as abroad. Clicking through the North America link can lead to most of my old websites. There is currently no Europe page, and the South America page is very incomplete. For using this website, you will likely need to enable some scripts and ActiveX controls. Please trust me that the site is safe.

Mount Rainier, August 3-5, 2007 This documents a trip I took to the summit of Mount Rainier. It includes a personal journal with photos.

About me:
I was born (January 4, 1981) and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. I earned a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University in 2003. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Washington in the Department of Electrical Engineering. I am working in Professor Lih Lin's Photonics Lab, trying to create a nano-scale (or rather sub-micrometer) quantum dot laser.
