The Drawing Game is like an illustrated version of "Telephone." It requires at least four players, each with a piece of paper sequestered into fourths. At the start of the game, each player writes down a "prompt" on the top of the first panel. This prompt is simply a sentence, anything at all really, just to get the game started. When this is done, each person simultaneously passes their prompt to either the left or right (or wherever) to someone else. The next player must then draw what the previous player's prompt calls for in the space below. When completed, the initial sentence is turned over so it cannot be seen, and the paper is passed, with only the picture now visible. The next player then comes up with a new prompt to describe what he or she sees in the unexplained illustration. This process repeats itself until a total of four prompts and four drawings have been made. The point of the game is that the memetic evolution of the initial prompt tends to produce absurd and hilarious results if done properly. For this reason and others, the game should not be played with boring people. This can get kind of esoteric and inside-jokey over time, and most of the drawing games archived on this site feature members of The Extended Group, as illustrated above. You may want to familiarize yourself with this awesome group of homoerotic men.
