Mission Statement:
The purpose of this organization shall be to:
- Spread awareness of privilege, oppression, power relations, and intersectionality
- Be prepared to respond to racism on campus and care for its victims
- Understand intersectionality and foster allyship
Organization Culture:
In its first year, this organization will be faced with building its own culture of values and practices that will guide its future ability to bring positive change to the UW campus. This process of cultural development begins with the establishment of the following values:
- Members shall respect and be tolerant of others
- Members should effort to be reflective before speaking
- Members shall be interested in dialogue
- Dialogue means working towards critique and movement in a positive direction
- This organization shall aim for inclusivity and equal speaking time for all members
- Each meeting agenda should be strictly adhered to
- All members shall be accountable for keeping the culture
