IoN [Saturday, 3 August 2002]
I have a theory... If every person in the world was an atom, then they would most likely be an IoN. Why?
Here is the definition of ion from the Merriam-Webster dictionary:
ion
Etymology: Greek, neuter of iOn, present participle of ienai to go -- more at ISSUE
Date: circa 1834
1 : an atom or group of atoms that carries a positive or negative electric charge as a result of having lost or gained one or more electrons
2 : a charged subatomic particle (as a free electron)
If love is made up of the electric charges on each one of us, we give love to others and receive love from others just as atoms lose and gain electrons. Sometimes we become more positive when we give love to others, and sometimes more negative when we receive.
A positive ion is attracted to a negative ion. Likewise, if there is someone giving love, then there is someone receiving it. We are connected to each other through love. Therefore, if we were atoms, love would be electrons, and we would be IoNs!
I am an IoN...
