What We Do: How it Works

Habitat for Humanity makes home ownership possible for very low-income families. Habitat for Humanity acquires property fro individuals, congregations and city and county agencies and sells completed homes to families at cost. Thousands of dedicated volunteers who donate their time, along with donations of money and materials, help make this possible.

This is where Habitat for Humanity UW comes into the picture. The members of our chapter attend several builds throughout the year and dedicate their Saturdays to Habitat for Humanity by volunteering. Through these builds, members gain valuable construction skills and achieve a sense of satisfaction or making a positive contribution to the community.
