Current and Past
I am currently a second year graduate student at the University of Washington's Quantitative Ecology and Resource Management (QERM) program and work under Andre Punt in the Marine Population Assessment & Management Group. Right now I am stumbling for the light switch, as I start my start my Master's thesis exploring the potential improvement in estimability of life-history parameters expected, but yet to be explored quantitatively after implementation of a Marine Protected Area. Outside of my thesis, I am interested the use of Bayesian Statistics as they relate to fisheries stock assessment and decision analysis in addition to incorporating geostatistical methods to many areas of fisheries science.
I grew up in Ventura, CA and later spent five years in San Luis Obispo, CA where I attended California Polytechnic State University and earned a degree in Statistics. The central coast is an amazing part of the state and I encourage anyone who has time to visit and explore the area. Beyond school I enjoy staying active, surfing, playing mind games and collecting rocks.
