Golden Key International Honour Society is an international, non-profit organization with nearly 350 collegiate chapters at major colleges and universities in the United States, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Australia, Malaysia, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa. Leaders in higher education, business, and public service are members of Golden Key and support the Society. The Society was founded at Georgia State University by a group of highly motivated undergraduate students on November 29th, 1977. Since that time, Golden Key has established itself as a positive force in the motivation of continuing higher education. More than one million lifetime members and 12,000 honorary members, including Presidents Clinton and Reagan, UNCF President William Gray, Nobel Price Winner Elie Wiesel, and General Colin Powell, are proud of their association with this dynamic organization. Golden Key is governed by a board of directors, a council and delegates to the annual convention. A trained, professional staff is dedicated to the Society's chapters and to its individual members throughout the year. Golden Key has a permanent headquarter to keep members and alumni in touch, no matter where they may be. The Society's constitution strictly prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, handicap, age, sexual orientation or social status. |
