About GMSA-UW

The Gates Millennium Scholars Association at the University of Washington (GMSA-UW) was established during the 2007-2008 school year as a student club by a number of current GMS scholars alreadyatthe U of W. GMSA-UW's mission is to help qualified high school studentswithin the Greater Seattlecommunity to apply for and compile competitive applications for the GMS Scholarship as well as provide a venue and support system for local GMS Scholars to network, share resources, and give back to the community. Members of the organization are scholarship recipients of the GMS program and are automatically associated with the programs local, regional, and national efforts in promoting academic success. As future Gates Millennium Scholar organizations develop locally and across the country, GMSA-UW will extend their network and resources to them. Among some of our efforts to achieve this include scholarship workshops and miscellaneous community involvment activities. We wholeheartedly welcome everyone's participation in GMSA at UW.
