University of Washington: SAO Office Box 355650 Seattle, WA 98195 Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority, Inc. Scholarship Fund On January 24, 1997, Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority, Inc. (GAO) was founded on the University of Washington campus. The establishment of GAO was to create a sisterhood that would provide support and encouragement for Hispanic women and other women of color in higher education. Through community service we learn the importance of giving back to our communities and encouraging young people of color, particularly Hispanic women, to strive for a college education and enhance their academic endeavors. GAO is offering one educational scholarship in the amount of $500.00. This will be Gamma Alpha Omega’s fourth annual scholarship sponsorship. Applicants will be notified, and scholarships shall be dispersed Fall Quarter. Selection will be made without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or status as a disabled or Vietnam Era Veteran. We welcome all applicants. Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible to apply for a GAO Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria: 1.
Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better
on a 4.00 scale. Selection will be based on the following criteria: ·
