Cultural Fest 2009 PDF Print

A one-of-a-kind event on the UW campus, Cultural Fest has been produced by the FIUTS Student Board every year since 2001. Hundreds of people attend, including university students and faculty, local elementary and middle school students, and members of the greater Seattle community.

Cultural Fest celebrates the cultural diversity of the UW campus through two main events:

ImageCountry/Cultural Booths

November 18th
HUB Ballroom 11am - 2pm

An exhibition of country/cultural booths where students display pictures, crafts, native dress, music, maps, food, and other cultural items.  Students who wish to put on a display should sign up early.

The TWO best booths at the festival win a CASH prize! Booths will be judged on creativity and interactivity with audience.

Performances

November 20th
UW Ethnic Cultural Theater 7pm

Stage performances of cultural music, dance, and art by local performers and artists as well as students.  

Tickets cost $5 and can be purchased at the FIUTS office in HUB 302B from 10-4 pm M-Th and 10-2 pm on Fri.Tickets may be available at the door on the night, but the only way to be sure you get a seat is to buy them early!

  • Owen Nie Performing (Piano Solo from China)
  • Tim Lee and Patrick Tsao (a Pop Song from Taiwan)
  • UW Klezmer Band (Traditional Jewish Songs from Eastern Europe)
