Redwood Coast Assault at Arms Tournament April 18-19, 2009

We have received an invitation from Humboldt State University Fencing Club. They are hosting their 2nd Redwood Coast Assault at Arms tournament on April 18-19, 2009. This is an official event for Association of Historical Fencing , which will be directed by Maestro Ramon Martinez and Maestra Jeanette Acosta-Martinez. The tournament will consists of foil and mixed historical weapons competition. Some of us will be going. The cost estimates will be posted soon.

Foil Workshop with Maestri Ramon Martinez & Jeannette Acosta-Martinez, Feb 28-March 1, 2009

Maestri Ramon Martinez and Jeannette Acosta-Martinez well be in town the last week of February. Our instructor Cecil will be holding a small workshop on Saturday and Sunday, February 28 th & March 1 st . The first day of the workshop will focus on French foil and the use of blade actions. The second day the workshop will revisit those concepts with the use of the dagger. As time permits, the workshop would like to apply the same concepts to generalized self-defense actions at the close of the second day. The location has been moved to Sandpoint. Those who contact Cecil first will have the best odds of securing a spot in the workshop.

nce again the Academia della Spada is pleased to host its third western martial arts weekend workshop. We extend a friendly invitation to all students and scholars of western martial arts, eastern martial arts, and modern fencing to join us in Seattle, WA for another three day intensive workshop on the traditional & historical martial arts of Europe. 4W 2008 will continue to offer the highest level of dedicated instruction from acknowledged professionals in their field. Participants will have the opportunity to attend an historical feast to relax, socialize, and stuff themselves with sumptuous victuals.
